Job Description


Our client is currently looking for a n entry level Paralegal to join their New York City office.

The incoming Paralegal joins a team that collectively provides assistance to multiple attorneys in a boutique firm setting specializing in complex commercial and securities litigation, art law, and business transactions.

Requirements : 

Bachelors degree with Cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Prepare, proofread, and format briefs, agreements, letters, memorandum, spreadsheets, presentations, and court documents
  • Organize and effect document productions
  • Help attorneys prepare for depositions, hearings, trials, drafting sessions and meetings
  • Research individuals and entities
  • Develop and maintain the Firm’s electronic, paper, and archival file systems
  • Collaborate with office manager, executive assistants, and controller to negotiate third-party contracts for the Firm, purchase supplies and equipment, and manage the firm’s IT vendor
  • Track billable time and enter it into the Prolaw system
  • Additional responsibilities as may be needed to respond to a changing environment and the Firm's needs

  • Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing) with both Firm staff and clients
  • Demonstrable attention to detail (for instance, you must be an excellent proofreader)
  • Proven analytical and mathematical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Ability to maintain confidences as well as build confidences and trust with lawyers and peers
  • Ability to organize large amounts of data, both hardcopy and electronic, into an easily retrievable system
  • Ability to be flexible, handle pressure, and adapt to changing work priorities, work flow, and work assignments
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines and productivity standards
  • Ability to break down long-term projects into manageable steps that can be accomplished on a daily basis
