Manager of Product Management

Position Summary:

The Manager of Product Management leads Product Managers and Technical Product Managers to drive the organizational vision of aligning evolving technologies and product capabilities to develop innovative solutions for our customers and which helps to promote the growth of our products in our market. The PM Manager works with Senior Leadership to establish Project goals, and manages a product end to end lifecycle, developing and executing strategies for overcoming challenges, promptly facilitating corrective actions, maximizing a return on investment and assuring the most positive outcome for the organization, closely working with cross-functional teams to ensure a quality product is released to manufacturing on schedule, and at cost target.

 

Principle Responsibilities: (Percentage of Time)

1. Lead and Manage Product Management Department, driving successful progress

and productivity for individual projects and in continued alignment with organizational

vision, promptly addressing barriers to meeting product’s financial, strategic, and

technical goals. (35%)

 

2. Develop strategies to incorporate evolving technologies to improve products

for customers and promote continued market growth (30%)

 

3. Lead and develop Product Management team and provide support through daily activities (25%)

 

4. Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes;

reviewing related publications; establishing networks. (5%)

 

5. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including

special projects and tasks as delegated by Human Resources Manager (5%)

 

Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):

(R) Bachelor’s Degree

(P) Master’s Degree

Degrees Preferred: Electronics Technology, Marketing, Management, Business Administration or

combination of education and experience

Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience (R/Required, P/Preferred):

1. (R) 8 or more years’ experience managing projects with Microsoft Project, or similar PM Software

2. (R) 5 years Leadership experience, 8 years leadership experience preferred

3. (R) 3-5 years of work experience in HVAC/R Sensor and Wireless related technologies and IoT standard

4. (R) Intermediate to expert computer skills required

5. (R) Comprehensive financial understanding to ensure projects stay on task and in budget

6. (R) Ability to perform Risk Analysis

7. (P) 3 or more years’ experience working in/with electronics

8. (P) Android and iOS experience a plus.

9. (P) 3 or more years’ experience working in/with electronics and/or Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

In many markets, we are placing fire alarm, life safety and security (card access and CCTV) salespeople, system designers, IT/Network electricians, inspectors and management/leaders.
