Job DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTIONExecutive DirectorPosition Overview:Covenant Ability Network of Illinois (CANIL) provides 24 hour care for 32 adults with developmental disabilities across four locations including one Intermediate Care Facility and three Community Integrated Living Arrangements.Under the immediate direction of the Covenant CANIL Board of Directors and Covenant Initiatives for Care, within the general policy established by the Board, the Executive Director has the delegated authority to lead, plan, direct, coordinate and administrate all of the services and programs operated by CANIL and promote the development of a competent and compassionate service delivery system for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. working with the Board of Directors.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Leads the administrative activities of CANIL. Works to establish appropriate goals and a direction for the organization that is competent, compassionate and cost effective, as well as other committees as directed by the Board of Directors. Leads the development of an annual budget that maximizes available resources for each fiscal year and presents a draft for approval.

Administers CANIL programs within the limits of the approved budget. Reviews and approves contracts, agreements and Agency expenditures per Board approved policies. Reviews and enforces appropriate management and clinical standards in order to maximize the quality of services offered to the individuals served within CANIL programs.

Works directly with the state to maintain all accreditations and licensures. Attends all meetings of the Board of Directors, executive committee meetings, and other meetings as requested. Presents written reports in advance of all board meetings for CANIL and Covenant Initiatives for Care.

Expand and coordinate fundraising programs to support existing operations and new projects Actively engage and energize volunteers, board members, event committees and board members involvement with strategic direction. Establish relationships and partnerships within and around the community Holds regularly scheduled staff meetings with management staff. Ensures that management staff are holding regularly scheduled meetings with their staff.

Seeks opportunities for self-improvement Maintains regular communication with families and parents of residents Recruits, hires and maintains high quality professional administrative and management staff Works to develop the abilities and skills of subordinate staff. Performs such other duties as may be assigned/delegated by the Board of Directors or required by law. Reviews and recommends to the Board, as required, all additions or changes in personnel and operating policies.QUALIFICATIONS Requires at least a Bachelor's Degree within management science or in one of the health or behavioral sciences.

At least five years' experience in a responsible management position. Must hold valid state of Illinois Nursing Home Administrator's license.SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and activities. A knowledge of public policy with respect to disabilities together with an understanding of treatment and habilitation techniques is essential.

Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information skillfully. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook or other similar applications. Must speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts productive meetings.

Must inspire and motivate others to perform well and accepts feedback from others. Must possess management skills that includes staff
