CountryPlace Mortgage, Ltd., is currently looking for a Bankruptcy Manager to work in our Addison, TX office. We are a strong, reliable company contributing to the mortgage industry and communities throughout 36 states. This position will report to the Director of Servicing.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication and organizational skills, demonstrate professionalism, be accountable, and have the ability to prioritize tasks. They will have a thorough understanding of U.S. Bankruptcy Code, specifically as related to mortgages. They will also have experience with foreclosure and debt collection.

OBJECTIVES: To ensure timely compliant documentation and filing of all bankruptcy materials with the appropriate attorneys. Provide regular updates and analysis to management on progress and settlement prognosis for bankrupt accounts. Maintain communications with attorneys to prevent any document delays that could negatively impact claim.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • College degree required

  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of U.S. Bankruptcy Code including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 provisions

  • Understanding and experience with preparing and submitting bankruptcy documentation

  • Must be able to pull data as well as analyze it in order take appropriate action within required timelines

  • Experience with mortgage foreclosure and default management

  • 5+ years of related experience required

  • Problem solving skills, strong organizational and reporting skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with MS Office required

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Receive, update and review bankrupt account information daily and ensure documentation is complete and accurate

  • Communicate and negotiate with attorneys and trustees when necessary

  • Research accounts thru PACER, trustee websites and any/all other outside systems, as well as internal systems

  • Set up, monitor and close out bankruptcy accounts including POCS and MFR’s for all Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 accounts

  • Review and respond to audits

  • Responsible for reporting and workflow improvement

  • Manage bankruptcy litigation and objections

  • Ensure that pre-and post-petition payment tracking is accurate

  • Contact trustee, debtor’s attorney, or debtor (when appropriate) to facilitate timely pre-and post-petition payments

  • Identify issues that qualify for legal action including plan objections, claim objections and motions for relief

  • Ensure that processes are regulatory and compliant with the Federal Bankruptcy Code and Rules

  • Other duties as assigned by management. Nonessential Functions: Familiarity with Foreclosure, Short Sales and Deed in Lieu processes, ability to work well in a team environment or individually, ability to multi-task & prioritize effectively and efficiently
