Director of Nursing

Seeking a Director of Nursing to join our healthcare management team. We are thoroughly committed to clinical excellence and compassionate care. As the clinical leader for our skilled nursing facility, you will lead the clinical team to ensure that our patients achieve their highest level of function and highest quality of life. The Director of Nursing works in concert with the Administrator and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State standards, guidelines and regulations.

Educational Requirements:

• Currently licensed as RN in this state; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Position Requirements:

• Managerial background required

• Two years in long-term or acute health care

• Current CPR, BLS certification

• Knowledge of Medicare and Medicare guidelines

• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

• Expertise in geriatric nursing a plus

• Excellent verbal and non-verbal skills

Managerial Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, development, management, and evaluation of skilled nursing services

• Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department

• Provide staff development and orientation of new employees

• Build a strong team environment by working with the Administrator and co-managers of the facility to set outstanding leadership examples

• Maintains excellent nursing standards in efficiency and economy

• Assist Administrator with policy development, strategic planning and problem-solving

• Monitor the nursing department to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines

• Monitor progress on survey compliance issues when deficiencies are noted

• 24 hour accountability for the facility

• Control budgets and monitor expenditures

• Recruits, interviews, hires and maintains clinical staff within regulatory and corporate requirements

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Ensures quality care with the best possible outcomes for all residents

• Diagnose and establish patient treatment plans

• Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior

• Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care

Other Responsibilities:

• Works collaboratively with other departments such as Admissions, Social Work, and Administration

• Enhances relationships with hospitals, physicians, and other medical providers in area

• Adheres to all HIPAA standards 100% of the time
