Position Summary
The Talent Acquisition/HR Generalist will be responsible for determining the staffing requirements and objectives of the company and deliver full life-cycle recruiting. The coordinator is responsible for retaining top talent and boosting employee morale. They will prepare and post all open positions internally and externally and then use their abilities to source, screen and prepare candidates for interviews with the HR Department and hiring managers. The coordinator will ensure background verifications are completed, communicate candidate status, and coordinate Orientation and training start dates. They must provide continued support to the Human Resource
Department and other personnel by bringing superior value and a high-quality experience to prospective candidates and current employees. This position also requires a strong, broad knowledge of HR functions. This could range from benefits administration, investigations, onboarding, training & performance management, records management, and legal compliance.
Job Functions
- Determine all recruiting needs companywide in order to attract and retain top talent
- Review applications and resumés from databases to weed out and send to hiring manager
- Coordinate and conduct phone interviews with potential candidates
- Conduct onsite and online interviews, ensuring the highest quality candidate experience
- Ensures that candidate screening and verification is timely, thoughtful and accurate
- Proactively seek out ways to improve the candidate experience
- Maintain detailed records using the applicant tracking system and hiring needs online documents
- Maintain awareness of competitor practices, industry trends and recruitment standards
- Store visits with Managing Partners to discuss hiring needs and expectations
- Create and monitor job postings both internally and externally using company portals and career sites
- Research local community events, job fairs, and school events to attend and attract talent
- Conduct store interview days
- Externally source candidates from other retailers including but not limited to closing retail stores
- Manage Text Recruit campaigns to properly communicate with candidates
- Manage all social media recruitment tools.
- Identify internal candidates for open positions and succession planning
- Brief Senior Director weekly on open positions and hiring stats
- Maintain employee morale and employee appreciation companywide
- Work with companies to set up and manage work study programs and ensure the company has appropriate liability coverage in place
- Is accountable to ensure the Costello’s operates in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local employment legislation and regulations.
- Handle any HR related complaints and complete full investigations, make recommendations, and follow up with all involved parties.
- Assist department in completing all terminations (resignations, terminations for cause & layoffs) which includes preparing separation & severance agreements, when applicable, conducting exit interviews and handling any termination related issues.
- Assist department in handling workers compensation and general liability claims.
- Always present self and company in a professional manner at all times
- Assist the Human Resources Department with other HR related tasks
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Senior Director of Human Resources and Executive Team
Other Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains Human Resource records and reports.
- Participates in company meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars and training.
- Assists the HR and Benefits manager with compiling company-wide weekly newsletter highlights including promotions, new hires, events at various locations and birthday & work anniversaries.
- Maintains company documents such as organization charts, employee directory, store lists on intranet site.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- Assist department with supply ordering and equipment for stores, new hires, and corporate office.
- Provide support to the Executive team.
- Assist the Human Resources Department with other HR related tasks and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Excellent coordination and scheduling abilities
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems; Paycom preferred
- Expert proficiency in PC systems and the Microsoft Suite
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sense of urgency and follow through are essential
- Strong knowledge of human resource principals, practices and legal issues
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to Travel to all States we operate in
