Summary of Essential Responsibilities
Perform a variety of technical, clerical and record keeping duties related to the filing and recording of probate, civil ,and commissioners court documents; vital statistics records, voter registration records, and misdemeanor records which will include but not limited to indexing and recording documents, preparing correspondence, providing effective and efficient public service assistance, collecting filing fees as cashier when assigned and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
Essential Responsibilities and Functions

- Receive and process all documents presented for filing on court dockets
- Participate in the issuance of service, computer data input, index and storage of court records
- Strive for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications
- Maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties
- Review and verify various information; sort, assemble and organize materials; route and deliver documents to the appropriate parties
- Prepare a variety of documents including general correspondence, notices, court orders, forms, records and reports
- Operate computerized cash drawer in order to accept payment of fees and be responsible for funds
- Act as receptionist or secretary to County Clerk, answer phones and provide service to customers
- Regular attendance is required
- Perform any job-related duty as assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the department
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of administrative skills to include organizing, prioritizing, accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle a wide variety of stressful conditions
- Ability to work independently under general direction
- Ability to deal effectively with all levels of employees, elected officials and the general public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write and orally communicate
- High School Diploma, GED, or previous administrative experience
- Administrative training with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word preferred
- Experience in or knowledge of court proceedings is preferred
