CI is looking fora talented and experienced Research Analyst to join our Fintech research team. Analysts track the digital platforms provided by leading fintechs, startups and innovation-oriented firms, analyze changes in product offerings/business models/market positioning, collaborate with team members, and serve as subject matter experts in this space. Successful Analysts are excellent communicators/researchers who are excited about the digital transformation that the banking, credit card, investing, payments and broader financial services industries are experiencing. In addition to their ongoing research responsibilities, Analysts manage fintech-focused consulting projects that include competitive landscape analysis, digital capabilities benchmarking and analysis of customer-facing technology and related trends. Analysts must have the drive to deliver valuable insights to our clients and be comfortable presenting research on client calls/webinars. They welcome the opportunity to participate in multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent work quality under tight deadlines.

CI strives to deliver high-quality work daily, but we like to have fun, too. Our active social committee organizes regular team-building and recreational events. In normal times, we frequent Escape the Room events and have a low-stakes title-winning kickball team. Lately, we've been keeping the spark alive through virtual alcohol-optional happy hours, scavenger hunts, trivia nights and more.

CI is currently operating on a hybrid model at our NY office where team members will be expected to work at our Midtown Manhattan office part of the time. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is required to enter the office. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position.

Specific Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Writing competitive intelligence reports summarizing changes to top fintech firms' digital experiences, as well as analyzing changes in product offerings/business models/market positioning among these fintechs
  • Producing deep dive reports on individual fintechs that assess their strategy, products and digital experience
  • Identifying fintechs and emerging players to add to our coverage universe
  • Developing a deep understanding of digital trends and best practices in the banking, credit card, investing and payments spaces, both domestic and international
  • Managing team members to ensure high quality and accuracy for all deliverables
  • Tailoring research to address clients' interests
  • Presenting research findings and recommendations to clients
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Handling consulting engagements, custom projects and client inquiries
  • Keeping current on industry trends and innovations

The position is ideal for an intermediate-level candidate with an interest in digital experience and an understanding of the fintech competitive landscape. Requirements include:

  • 2-6 years of professional experience, preferably with a focus on digital experience, qualitative research and/or consumer insights in retail financial services
  • Bachelor's degree with a record of strong academic performance
  • Exceptional writing, speaking and analytical skills
  • Project management experience is preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (familiarity with SharePoint and OneDrive is a plus)
  • Experience working independently and collaborating with a team
  • Experience conducting research and communicating results to an audience
  • Superb attention to detail and very high standards for work
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and intellectual curiosity
