Salary Details : $60,000-$68,000 annually
POSTION DESCRIPTION
Cornerstone is seeking a Donor Relations and Major Gift Coordinator to advance our mission, vision and values. This position will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding Cornerstone’s current individual donors, as well as identifying and developing relationships with individuals who are strong prospects but new to Cornerstone’s work. This position works with donors, volunteers and Cornerstone staff to develop relationships resulting in mid-level, major and planned philanthropic gifts. Specific responsibilities include working with Cornerstone leadership to develop a new case for support, managing a portfolio of donors, tracking contacts and information and supporting the efforts of the Development team as a whole.
Education/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience working with mid-level and major donors in a nonprofit setting and will be able to demonstrate the success of past strategies. In the alternative, the candidate may have transferrable skills from outside the nonprofit sector (for example, a background in sales).
Hours/Schedule: This position allows a flexible work schedule which varies based on events, meetings and program needs. The position allows for remote work, but there will be a substantial number of in-person events and meetings (both internal and external) that will be required for this role. Some events and meetings may be in the evenings or on the weekend.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY SKILL SETS
Ability to communicate effectively through writing, listening and speaking
Demonstrated knowledge of prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors preferred
Independent and self-motivated
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of donor databases, preferably Blackbaud Raisers Edge and RENXT
A commitment to Cornerstone’s work with individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and general crime
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Work with the Director of Advancement to develop plans and projections based on current status of donors and goals for Cornerstone’s contributed income
Maintain a full schedule of personal meetings with donors and prospects
Manage a portfolio of 125-150 donors/prospects, working to match their philanthropic goals with Cornerstone’s needs
Identify planned giving prospects and strategize for long-term engagement
Conduct ongoing cultivation and stewardship practices to recognize donors and prospects
Work with Executive Director and Development Team to update the organization’s case for support
Use Raiser’s Edge/RENXT to maintain contact records and notes for all donors and prospects

If such a situation should arise the employee should notify their supervisor to find help with lifting any item regardless of weight if the object to be lifted is awkward or difficult to lift in any way.
