Production Supervisor (Overnight Shift)
A shift supervisor oversees the activities of a work group during a typical 8-hour work shift. A primary role of the shift supervisor is to manage worker productivity. You typically head up a shift of workers scheduled during a particular part of the day. Along with assigning basic tasks, you provide ongoing feedback and direction as work is performed. You also address any employee conflicts that arise during the course of a shift. Youre responsible for maintaining equipment while keeping a clean and safe work area, daily. During shift exchanges, you often look over all equipment for safety and proper functioning. If equipment breaks, you coordinate with the production manager to order repairs. Your position is often a hands-on management role. You often assign roles to each worker and take on production roles yourself.
Responsibilities(but are not limited to the following):
Initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintains quality products by establishing and enforcing organization quality standards.
Ensures operation of equipment through daily/weekly/monthly maintenance, calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
Resolves and documents day to day escalations
Provides post and pre-press redundancy when needed.
Provides day to day post press resource when needed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Excellent knowledge of all production processes
Excellent knowledge of company products
Meet production deadlines by communicating job expectations through prioritizing, planning, and monitoring of workflow.
Requirements:
Able to work at a fast pace to meet strict deadlines
Dependable and punctual
Able to work flexible hours and weekends when necessary
Good verbal/written communication skills
Able to read & interpret instructions, identify problems/missing information and address them proactively
Detail oriented and organized, able to evaluate projects & provide input on productivity & quality improvements
Experience managing multiple priorities
Basic computer skills and efficient with the 10 key.
Physical requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
60-80% of time standing and walking
Working in a warehouse environment
Working near running machinery
