THE POSITION:

  • The national leader in financing commercial property energy retrofits and new construction is a unique financing mechanism providing a cutting-edge solution to implement sustainable and energy efficiency technologies in commercial properties.
  • We're looking for energetic, conscientious individuals with knowledge of the commercial real estate financing market along with underwriting and account management experience to join our team in Austin as an Underwriting Analyst. This position will aid in the origination, underwriting and servicing of financings that meet the company's volume and underwriting criteria.
  • The Underwriting Analyst will achieve this by working closely with Originations, Legal, Finance and Transaction team members with the overall goal to generate, underwrite and successfully close financing transactions.

RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Support underwriting managers and the VP of Underwriting by conducting credit analysis on new PACE opportunities as well as on deals in the closing pipeline
  • Draft underwriting memos for complex commercial real estate transactions to take to credit committee
  • Prepare term sheets for delivery to potential borrowers
  • Communicate with borrowers and third parties to obtain information relevant to the underwriting process
  • Compile and analyze diligence and underwriting packages for completeness, ensuring PACE financing file meets program and investor guidelines
  • Verify compliance with internal PACE financing conditions, facilitate approval process and communicate effectively with cross functional teams including Originations, Legal, Finance and Transactions
  • Deliver specific assigned tasks and projects in a timely manner
  • Participate in team meetings, being an engaged and contributing member of the organization
  • Take responsibility for process improvement initiatives, refinement of best practices and other assigned action items


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5 years successful experience in underwriting, or as a bank credit analyst, in commercial real estate, finance, or investment industries
  • Minimum undergraduate degree
  • Strong judgement is required in this role, decision making at every level is critical due to the fast-paced nature of the organization and industry
  • Must have the proven ability to handle and organize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, results-driven, and detail-orientated with a strong work ethic, high level of confidence and integrity
  • Ability to communicate with new relationships including those at the C-level
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and CoStar
  • Experience with complex financial transaction management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and the ability to work efficiently and well under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills
