Description

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Advancement, the Director of Marketing and Communications serves as the leader of the Marketing Department in addition to serving as the Campus Communication Coordinator for one Coram Deo Academy Campus. The campus selected will be determined on the applicant’s proximity to Plano, Flower Mound or Dallas campus. The Director of Marketing & Communications supports the school through the development and implementation of marketing, advertising, communications, and media strategy. The Director of Marketing & Communications conducts analysis, develops and maintains branding standards in collaboration with the Creative Director, and as a team implements effective, cost-efficient, and strategic marketing and communications measures to retain current families, engage new applicants, and create a brand recognition that reflects the excellence of CDA. The Director leverages current industry trends, best practices, and technology to propose innovative strategies and oversees the Marketing department’s annual budget and personnel. This person will advise, create, and ensure strategies for clear and concise communications both internally and externally.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement marketing, advertising, communications, and media plans and strategies to support Coram Deo Academy
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining key messaging and strategy for the district and campus communication
  • Managing website content and structure in collaboration with the Systems Department
  • Collaborate in all external and internal marketing and communications needs of the Office of Development, the Office of the President, and Campus Administration 
  • In charge of allocating and managing the Marketing Department budget
  • Responsible for executing one campus marketing, advertising, communication, and media plan functioning as the Campus Communication Coordinator in collaboration with campus leadership
  • Supervise, lead, and grow Communication Coordinators on two additional campuses
  • Ensure that approved plans are effectively executed as scheduled utilizing cross-channel marketing strategies to increase engagement and brand awareness
  • Work in partnership with the Admissions Department to increase the effectiveness of lead generation, enhance prospect engagement, and maximize conversion rates
  • Work closely with the Office of Development’s team in support
  • Collaborate with Creative Director and department heads to ensure the successful completion of marketing project needs to include digital, print, video, and media items such as The Forum, the Annual Report, State of the Academy, and large event-related items (invitations and other marketing collateral) etc.
  • Manage the development and distribution of internal and external news releases publicizing achievements and interest items to engage constituents
  • Regularly generate and present reports and analysis for all campaigns to inform future efforts to the VP of Advancement
  • Support school leaders in developing external messaging for speaking engagements, interviews, media responses, etc., as needed
  • Ensure a central clearinghouse for all three campuses graphics, photography, and video content
  • Serve on assigned CDA committees

Qualifications

Essential Job Requirements:

EDUCATION  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Social Media Management, Public Relations, or other related field, Required
  • Master’s Degree Preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing, Advertising, Social Media Management, Public Relations, or another related field
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a managerial function

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
  • Expertise in search engine optimization, Google Analytics, social media platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and general office technology
  • Ideally has some experience with or can quickly learn elements of Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud Push Pages, Constant Contact, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Synthesize and analyze data, metrics, and key performance indicators
  • Speak publicly and provide relevant training, instruction, or information to audiences
  • Work in both team and individual settings
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Works in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a diverse array of contacts.
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time
  • Be able to occasionally lift 30 lbs.
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment. 
  • Work locations will be split between the Central Administrative Office in Lewisville and the campus for which you are responsible. It will typically require two days at central office and three days on campus or a variation thereof. There may be options to work from home a few days a month. 
  • Occasionally needed for school events during evenings and weekends as requested.
