Financial Analyst

Purpose of the Job

The main purpose of this Headquarters' Financial Analyst position is to manage the financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, treasury, investments and financial reporting across the organization. The incumbent will provide ongoing capital planning, financial and organizational analysis and support all levels of management within Coptic Orphans. He / She will perform financial analysis and reporting duties, including creation, review and quality control of financial and operational reporting (system- generated and ad-hoc). Duties include coordination of the annual capital and depreciation budgets, quarterly forecast updates and monthly financial results analysis across the organization. In addition, he / she will develop executive level presentations to inform and support both short-term and long-term planning efforts within the organization. The incumbent will act as the system administrator for the new ERP system "Sage Intacct" and will provide system support across the organization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct financial planning and analysis support (forecast, multi-year plans) as well as develop and maintain numerous spreadsheets and other data sources used in financial forecasting and project management.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records, documented procedures and systems, effective internal and audit controls and sound business practices are in place. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations as well as following internal policies/procedures.
  • Partner with Country Directors, Operations team and other finance staff to coordinate the completion of the annual budget process, quarterly forecasts, monthly financial close and other ad-hoc projects
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual external audit for all countries.
  • Maintain and administer Sage Intacct and help developing new reports and dashboards.
  • Manage and execute special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance or economics. CFA preferred.
  • 3-5 years work experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and being detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Advance skills in Microsoft Office Suite and experience in financial systems a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines across diverse business groups.
  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses in a process and recommend effective adjustments.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision; work well in a team and independently and effectively communicate with remote colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Arabic a plus.
