Job Description

Control Smart Lighting (CSL) is the region’s leading business to business lighting & energy solution provider. We help businesses, government agencies, retail and medical facilities, along with educational institutions by being their trusted adviser for all their lighting needs. We are currently accepting resumes for a self-motivated team member to fill our FULLY REMOTE Business Development position. This person will work cooperatively with other sales staff of the CSL team to grow existing customers, create new customers, and meet or exceed monthly/quarterly sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new customers. Identify prospects that meet target account profiles for alignment with corporate strategies such as customer and industry segment, size, and growth potential.
  • Identify and qualify energy, lighting, and IoT project opportunities by calculating short-term and long-term financial returns for projects. Evaluate federal, state, and utility company incentive programs to support sales process.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal project team to develop proposals projects to meet customer metrics and internal financial metrics. Work with internal project teams to collect and document customer requirements and performance metrics for projects.
  • Lead negotiations with customers for commercial agreements for project, maintenance and product sales while maintaining profitability targets.
  • Manage relationship with existing customers. Increase recurring sales through maintenance and supply agreements by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, etc.
  • Maintain company’s market intelligence on competitive position and technology trends for the lighting and energy industries. Participate in industry forums and working groups to stay abreast of upcoming changes.
  • Keep CRM database updated with information including prospect company, contacts, project opportunity, and key activity details.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associates degree in a business-related field required. Bachelors degree in business-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with technology sales for commercial and industrial markets preferred. Experience with automation systems and IoT a plus.
  • Strong active listening, written and verbal communication skills.
  • System-level thinking and problem-solving skills a must
  • Ability to self-manage to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
  • Proficiency with software and tools required to work remotely
