Director of Planning Forecasting and Inventory Management

<p>Los Angeles based fashion apparel organization seeks a Director of Planning Forecasting and Inventory Management to join their team. The Director will be responsible for leading the planning and budgeting process, strategy, and procurement of company inventory management based on financial plans and goals. As the Director you will coordinate with other stake holders on planning and forecasting sales, inventory, and gross margin to align with the financial objectives of the company.

In this role you work closely with Sales, Finance and Design.</p><p>Planning/Forecasting</p><p>&middot; Collaborates with sales to develop strategic annual sales plan at season, category, sub category, channel, country and customer level (sales, inventory and margin).</p><p>&middot; Work with sales in development, documentation and implementation of sales strategies.</p><p>&middot; Lead team in weekly management of sales plans vs. current forecast and tracking&mdash;insure inventory positioned to support all levels of plan and forecast.</p><p>&middot; Reports weekly to management via Sales and Margin Dashboard by brand</p><p>&middot; Owner of strategic retail/wholesale pricing and costing to support markets need with consideration to the competitive arena, as well as, internal margin needs</p><p>&middot; Collaborate with sales team to develop and manage channel/segment strategies.</p><p>&middot; Champion with planning team collective sales and business results.</p><p>&middot; </p><p>Merchandising</p><p>&middot; Responsible for the initial assortment plan, design development &ldquo;blue print&rdquo; and ultimate line build to insure product positioning supports channel, segment and sales goals.</p><p>&middot; Partner with design to build seasonal line/assortment plans and product flow based on category and seasonal needs.</p><p>&middot; Work with sales in developing Go To Market plans by channel aligned to seasonal trend objectives.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Inventory Management</p><p>&middot; Plan and manage inventory &ndash; insure ideal inventory productivity to maximize sales opportunity while limiting exposure and risk, via monthly OTB tool</p><p>&middot; Manage production flow to insure inventory levels support sales forecast, while still achieving company financial goals.</p><p>&middot; Works with planning team on weekly review of specific inventory needs through available to sell analysis</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&middot; </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Strategic Projects/Reporting</p><p>&middot; Works with senior management in high level reporting and special projects to include:</p><p>&middot; Board/Investor reporting</p><p>&middot; Business overviews</p><p>&middot; Due diligence support</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Requirements and Qualifications</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&middot; Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Planning, Merchandise Planning or in a similar capacity</p><p>&middot; Experience budgeting, inventory turn and gross margin required</p><p>&middot; Strategic planning and analytical skills</p><p>&middot; Skilled in forecasting</p><p>&middot; Highly Proficient in Excel</p>
