Construemax offers 24/7 Emergency Response and Reconstruction Services to the Central Florida, Tampa and Panhandle areas. Our services include water extraction, fire & smoke damage mitigation, mold remediation, biohazard cleanup along with residential and commercial structural repairs.

Job Summary

The Technician is responsible for providing on-site services to our customers while supervising the work of supporting staff while under the direct supervision of the Crew Chief and/or Mitigation Manager. The Technician is expected to deliver expert and professional services to clients with the expectations of developing skills to advance within the company. The Technician must demonstrate an interest and desire to excel in all aspects of the company including technical and leadership abilities. The Technician will be a front-line contact during all projects and must be a valued contributor to Construemax. The Technician may be required to work extended hours based upon the severity of the catastrophic event and/or tasks at hand. The Technician will support the mitigation team by creating accurate scopes of work in Xactimate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Physical and psychological ability to perform the duties of a Technician.

Individual with complete understanding of all processes required to successfully remediate properties after water and fire. Follow industry standards when performing structural drying, mold remediation, biohazard cleanup, etc.

Minimum required IICRC certifications:

  • Water Damage Restoration (WRT)
  • Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (WRT)
  • Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)

Proficient at inspecting, evaluating and properly documenting water, fire and mold damaged properties. Conduct crews to perform precise demo, water and fire damage cleanup and smoke and deodorization of structural components and contents.

Proficient with restoration processes, including structural drying, contents drying, and restoration along with precise demolition and salvage. Inspect, evaluate and draw sketch as part of the process of documenting a restoration project. Document drying progress using moisture mapping software.

Must abide by company’s general grooming standards and participate in our uniform program.

Proactive content handling approach to prevent damage to property while properly packing and delivering contents from/to the customer’s home.

Coordinate the efficient execution of restoration projects while ensuring that all involved are performing work based on company and industry standards. Establish and maintain a schedule to ensure all services are delivered in a timely fashion with professionalism and with empathy.

Ability to discuss the scope of work and cleanup process to customers and insurance adjuster.

Safely drive a company vehicle to locations designated by management team.

Load/unload equipment and supplies from the vehicle to the work site. Clear the work site by moving furniture and equipment to restore the work site to the original configuration when the job is complete.

Review necessary paperwork with customer and obtain required signatures on pertinent documentation such as Work Authorization and Certificate of Satisfaction.

Perform work safely and wear protective equipment while observing and promoting a safe work environment.

Maintain a clean and neat jobsite, leaving a first-class impression of the work performed by the company.

Ensure that restoration vehicle is properly stocked to handle scheduled projects and additional emergencies.

Verify that restoration equipment is clean and stored properly when not in use.

Maintain company vehicles neatly organized for safety and to maintain a good impression of the company.

Offer reconstruction services to all customers during the mitigation/cleanup phase.

Update project status and compliance items in Project Management Software.

Participate in an "On Call" rotation for after-hours service calls, which involves some weekends and night responsibilities.

Positive attitude and willingness to learn and progress within the company

Hands on approach when performing all tasks listed above including security properties after break-ins, roofing damage, etc.

Ability to travel with short notice to participate in catastrophic events.

Other tasks as assigned by management

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position.
The Technician must be computer literate with the ability to use several industry related software such as PSA and Moisture Mapper. The candidate must also have a functional understanding of handheld smart devices and an aptitude for learning new technology including all the applicable software as required. Being detail oriented, with strong communication skills plus having the ability to follow verbal and written instructions is of the utmost importance. A candidate must possess a clean background, maintain acceptable driving record and pass a drug screening test to be considered for this position.

Physical Demands

While performing the job responsibilities of this position, the employee may frequently be exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The Construemax employee may occasionally be exposed to adverse weather conditions, toxic, acidic or caustic chemicals. The Construemax employee in this position, may occasionally be required to enter confined spaces, requiring the employee to have the ability to crawl in and through restrictive areas. All Construemax service employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds during their normal job actions. Construemax will supply all employees with Personal Protective Equipment and it is the employee’s responsibility to use it. Employee is responsible for following proper safety precautions when performing work to prevent injuries.

Education and Experience:

GED or High School Diploma

Five years construction/project management experience with a minimum of three years insurance restoration experience.

Knowledge of restoration, mitigation, and/or construction practices and procedures.

Computer skills and knowledge of Xactimate and office applications
