SCOPE OF POSITION:
Construction Specialties is looking for a highly motivated Manager of IT Security to join the team. This role will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Construction Specialties computing systems and software. Additionally, the candidate would be responsible for creating and maintaining Information Security policies and procedures, selecting, and implementing new technologies, as well as Information Security training programs. The candidate for this role will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with colleagues at many levels within the organization and being part of an IT transformation within the organization.

- Maintain awareness of new cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to keep the organization secure
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities
- Monitor network activity to identify signs of intrusion or compromise
- Develop security policies, procedures and guidelines that are compliant with federal regulations
- Conduct cybersecurity awareness training in information security best practices to employees or clients
- Supervise and train staff on information security best practices to ensure compliance with company policies
- Conduct audits to ensure security protocols are being followed by staff
- Assess current technology architecture for vulnerabilities, weaknesses and for possible upgrades or improvement
- Implement and oversee technological upgrades, improvements, and major changes to the information security environment
- Communicate information security goals and new programs effectively with other department managers within the organization
- Generates reports and manages alerts on varied systems to ensure correct configuration best-practices are being used.
- Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
- Aids in any corporate-led security measures as well as any compliance needs
- Build and maintain relationships by engaging IT leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives
- Performs other duties assigned by management
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Security or related field
- Minimum of 4 years IT security, or similar experience
- At least 4 years of experience with analyzing emerging threats and reports that describe the implications of threat(s)
- Good understanding of security best practices in MS Azure and M365 environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across levels of leadership
- Passion and expertise in cybersecurity, with an ability to be confident, respectful, and articulate when registering dissenting or unpopular opinions
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining superior results
- Ability to work cross-functionally, individually, and to lead work among a team
- Execution oriented and a self-motivator
- Professional security management certifications or wiliness to achieve one within 12 months
- A very perceptive person, who can relate to individuals at all levels.
- Must be sensitive to Company needs, ensure that security measures don't impede negatively on users' jobs.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner.
- Ability to drive initiative to successful conclusion and committed to organizational and departmental success.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic applications to business needs
- Must be able to travel 10% of the time
