OSP Field Technician must commute to Burr Ridge Office 1-2 days per week.

Reports to: OSP Field Technician Manager | Director, Engineering
Essential Functions and Duties:
The Outside Utility Field Technicians will be working out of Chicago and surrounding towns on projects in the surrounding markets. CCS provides extensive training,the job consists of gathering field information through on existing utilities for both aerial and underground utility infrastructure. (ex. Easement utilities, pedestals, cabinets, cable terminals, poles, signage manholes, poles). Candidate must be able to locate and document detailed information on existing utilities: terminal, manholes above ground features, cables, poles utilizing GIS specialized software.
To perform field information retrieval duties as assigned by the Field Technician Manager. the Field Technician ensures high quality field retrieval information, and operation /performance of the Client’s telecommunications systems. The Field Technician has responsibility for visiting the field to record and document existing field conditions and coordinate that information to the Engineering Department or client via manual, handwritten or digital means. Visit the field as required to verify the existing utilities at each assigned location, using either a smartphone or other mobile unit. Input all information as indicated by the digital application. Ensure all information has been captured thoroughly and accurately as requested by the client. May be required to revisit locations as required to obtain information missed. Send daily reports to manager of daily progress.
Education: A high school diploma or the equivalent is required; an Associate’s degree or completion of college courses equivalent to an Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Telecommunications or Electrical is preferred.
· Be able to work with minimum supervision
· Have good knowledge with technology devices
· Be able to learn and understand GIS/Maps software.
· Valid Driver’s License
· Personal Cell Phone (but, not required)
· Physical Requirements:
· Be able to walk, approximately 1-4 miles daily. Be able to carry 20-40 pounds as required, but no on a daily basis.
Clothing for walkouts should be weather/season appropriate. You should carry extras of everything. Being prepared for weather and ever changing environments is the best defense.

Please note, if you are going to be spending time in the office, you must dress appropriately for a professional office setting. All managers have the authority to ask you to to be properly attired.
