As Director, Production your primary responsibility is to be an ambassador for our People, Process, Product and Profits within the Production department.

You will oversee the day-to-day operations of Conscious Minds' best-in-class production department as well as supervise projects from ingestion through wrap. You will lead, manage and provide clear expectations and consistent accountability to Line Producers, Production Managers and Coordinators under your leadership.

The Director, of Production reports to the Head of Studio Operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the production department including managing Line Producers, Production Managers, and Coordinators including hiring staff and freelance production positions for projects.
  • Oversee the continued development and growth of Conscious Minds' production team, capabilities, process, and network of talent and vendors.
  • CM Integration & Collaboration Philosophy: Work alongside studio leadership to develop production workflows and processes that promote integration and collaboration between the creative studio, management, and production teams. This includes building and nurturing superior relationships with other departments through collaboration, problem-solving and conflict management.   • Provide production leadership on projects from ingestion through wrap while ensuring projects stay within budget, and are delivered on time and to the level of quality expected by clients.
  • Work with Executive Producers to bid/scope projects based on creative, budget, timing, deliverables and provide a diversity of production solutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all projects are accurately wrapped and turned into accounting on an efficient timeline. This includes the actualization of internal hours, freelancer payroll, vendor invoices, and releases.
  • Maintain relationships with equipment vendors and oversee the use of all CM-owned production equipment.
  • Research and implement emerging production technology and workflows.
  • Onboard all freelance Line Producers and ensure they work within CM Production and Covid-19 Guidelines.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 7-10 years experience as a commercial Line Producer and Production Manager required.
  • Expertise in producing and bidding on both Union and Non-Union productions.
  • Must be able to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Must be a forward thinker always planning ahead.
  • Must be able to negotiate rates with employees and vendors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Must be tactful in resolving problems.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner.
