Job Description

Growing Construction Company is searching for a Vice President Finance. This person will be responsible for processing the financial activities of the organization to maximize company’s profits and plan for its growth, reporting to the CEO. The role includes analyzing data and advising top executives on ways to use that information to make strategic decisions about the organization’s future. This will include a mix of leadership and hands on work, the VP of Finance will be focused on completing month and quarter end financial statements, working with senior leadership on job costing, cashflow and budget projections and leading financial personnel. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated financial professional who thrives in a collaborative and faced-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Manage all accounting and finance transactions, with 10+ branch locations in various states, in conjunction with the VP-Accounting

· Ensure strong fiscal and business procedures are in place across the organization and work to continually improve productivity and effectiveness of current cross-team processes

· Evaluate financial implications of business decisions and provide advice/recommendations to CEO and executive team (including, but not limited to, decisions regarding benefits, capital expenditures, insurance, staffing, etc.)

· Prepare annual operating budget and periodic forecast updates, working closely with business unit leaders

· Tracking of actual performance against those forecasts/budgets on a monthly basis

· Report monthly and quarterly results to the Board of Directors and Investor Group

· Review estimates used for construction contracts, to ensure financial statements are appropriately stated

· Oversight responsibility for approval of cash disbursements

· Serve as lead resource for accounting as well as operations personnel for questions/support of ERP software

· Report quarterly debt covenant compliance and forecast expected compliance monthly to identify potential issues

· Calculate and managing quarterly incentive payments to eligible employees

· Participate in capital raising and/or debt refinancing efforts

· Coordinate all aspects of annual financial statement audit and preparation of annual external financial statements and footnotes

· Supervisory responsibility for annual worker’s compensation audit

· Serve on 401(k) Investment Committee, with fiduciary responsibility for plan participation and performance and coordinate audit/5500 filing of company’s 401(k) plan

Qualifications/Essential Skills

· Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting, CPA or MBA preferred

· Construction accounting experience (percentage completion method) required

· 10+ years of experience in finance and accounting, including 5+ years of supervisory experience

· Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills

· Excellent computer skills (strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are required)

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a changing environment

· Attention to detail, balanced with ability to see the “big picture”

· Analytical skills
