Job Description

Growing industrial manufacturer is looking for a Sales Manager. This person will report to the CEO.

This position is responsible for the development, management and implementation of all sales initiatives for the company including the cultivation of new business and growing existing business. The Sales Manager will work with other members of the general administrative and marketing teams to create demand and orders for the company’s products. This person will train, supervise and coach other members of the sales team and work with them to develop new markets and new strategies that will lead to profitable growth for the business. The Sales Manager will function tactically and lead strategically.

Responsibilities:

· Be creative and motivated and bring creative selling ideas to the team.

· Act as the ambassador for the brand – convey the company’s passion for design, manufacturing and service excellence.

· Establish base lines and track effectiveness of all sales campaigns to advise future strategies. Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and be able to report on it when called upon.

· In coordination with the President, set weekly and monthly sales goals and manage the sales team to meet those goals.

· Assure that the sales team provides the highest level of service and support to customers. Constructively handle all customer complaints.

· Possess and insure that all sales team members possess substantial product knowledge and advanced selling skills.

· Periodically review the performance of sales team members and motivate and stimulate them to even greater achievements.

· Work with the Marketing Manager to coordinate trade shows. Attend trade shows (up to 10 per year), take a lead role in the sales process at the shows and assign leads for follow up after the shows.

· As required, make sales trips to visit with prospective customers and dealers.

· Keep abreast of the strategies and programs of competitors and recommend pro-active responses to secure the company’s market position.

· Track sales and inquiries, identify periods of slow activity and work with sales team on pro-active strategies to stimulate demand.

· In coordination with the Marketing Manager, develop and implement on-line, email and direct mail programs that result in increases in in-bound leads for the sales team.

· Recommend new channels of distribution, new markets and new products to expand the company’s market presence and sales. Take the lead role in developing these opportunities into sales.

· Take the lead sales role in company meetings being prepared with sales statistics, trends, action plans and assignments.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of sales management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

· A strong work ethic, efficiency and attention to detail.

· A creative mind and the ability to direct other people.

· Proven track record in managing and directing skilled, motivated, results-oriented inside sales teams.

· Ability to understand mechanical concepts and convey technical information.

· Ability to listen and understand customer requirements and relate appropriate company products and services to meet those requirements.

· Strong computer skills.

· Ability to work on one’s own while being a contributor to a team effort.

· Strong written, verbal and communication skills.

· Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
