Arlington based IT support firm seeking a new member to join our IT support team. If you are looking for a long-term career with excellent advancement opportunities then you may be just the person we are looking for.

This position is critical in providing managed network administration to our clients. This position is salaried and full-time, verbal and written communications skills are a must as you will be communicating with c-level and end users.

The System Admin works with the Professional Services team. The team is responsible for design and deployment of system infrastructure and the creation and remediation of system design to established best practices. The mission of the Professional Services team is to proactively enforce best practice standards to reduce the reactive effort spent on supporting our clients.


  • Project management and task assignment

  • Define and maintain best practice deployment and system management processes

  • Perform client audits and assessments; coordinate efforts with the VCIO to produce recommendations for the client.

  • Identify and implement remediation steps to align client networks with established best practices

  • Deploy new systems in accordance with established best practices

  • Write clear and concise documentation including instructions

  • Participate in new product/technology adoption

  • Participate in on-call rotation

  • Continuous skills improvement by keeping current on new technology, industry trends and threats


  • Extensive experience with Server 2008 thru the current version

  • Working knowledge of Virtualization (HyperV and VMWare, Azure, O365, TCP/IP, DNS, active directory, exchange, NTFS file permissions, remote desktop, VPN, network cabling, network switching, printers - local and network

  • Knowledge of archival backup and disaster recovery methodologies

  • Understand firewalls, VPN’s, switching, VLANS, routers and VoIP

  • Understanding of SNMP and other network monitoring processes and standards

  • Have understanding of mobile devices and how they interact with server / email environments

  • Knowledge of network and server hardware with network diagramming skills

  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, ability to think analytically and to plan and manage projects

  • Ability to communicate with upper level management

  • Effective writing skills including grammatical correctness and clear / concise communication

Education: Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience: 5+ Years in system administration and management

Certifications: MCSA Server or MCSE, also certs in Cisco or VMWare are helpful
