Growing pharmaceutical manufacturer is looking for a Packaging Director. Company will pay for relocation.
Oversee the daily operation, organization capability and strategic planning of assigned production areas. Ensure the department’s ability to achieve consistent quality standards as per FDA cGMP guidelines while coordinating the development and execution of production schedules with the manufacturing operation teams across multiple shifts. The incumbent works closely with business development to forecast product sales and infrastructure requirements to meet future business forecasts.
• Directs departmental programs and activities to maintain and continuously improve product quality standards. • Manages the manufacturing operations personnel in a cost-effective and regulatory compliant manner, including training, scheduling, performance evaluations and other routine personnel management tasks. • Executes the production schedule as established by planning group and assures a thorough understanding of expectations & needs by the team and communicates potential discrepancies/deviations from actual plan on a daily basis. • Effectively communicates with incoming/outgoing shift personnel to ensure continuity. • Assures all batch records are reviewed and corrected in a timely manner, and that all deviations and investigation reports are initiated, written and approved within established guidelines from batch completion and QA submittal. • Reviews SOP’s batch records, and other documents as needed while engaging supervisors, team leaders and operators to write and revise documents pertinent to Production. • Works closely with cross-functional teams such as sales and marketing, product development, quality control, quality assurance, maintenance, warehouse, etc. • Communicates, implements and measures team, shift and department goals and follows-up periodically to ensure metrics are being achieved. • Assures supervision maintains excellent housekeeping throughout production area that meets or exceeds QA standards. • Enforces company safety policies and procedures. Promotes worker safety through education, environment, and individual accountability.
Experience and Qualifications:
Education • BS degree highly preferred. 10+ years of supervisory and management experience pharmaceutical industry required. • Requires 10+ years of packaging manufacturing experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Must have experience dealing with bottles, liquids, blister packaging, etc • Experience with medium to high volume product manufacturing. • Experience with equipment’s that are routinely used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. • Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement, lean manufacturing experience preferred. • Experience and knowledge of cGMP and compliance issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Computer Skills • SAP experience strongly preferred. • Proficient skills in Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. • • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. •• Ability to lead and direct others for the completion of assigned tasks for a specific area of operation to accomplish organizational goals.
