Associate Counsel

Position Title: Associate Counsel
Department: Legal
Reports to: General Counsel/Head of Compliance

A leading provider of advances to personal injury victims and their families nationwide is seeking an Associate Counsel. The firm aims to provide much needed liquidity to an underserved market; providing financial means for injury victims to pursue a fair settlement.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide legal and professional support on a full range of legal matters, including legal and regulatory compliance, claims, investigations, litigation, labor and employment, and other matters.
- Review, analyze, contribute and/or assist with the negotiation, drafting, and/or modification of various types of contracts and other transactional legal documents for filing, filing documents, and service of documents.
- Assist with investigating pending litigation in electronic dockets around the nations.
- Assist with litigation, discovery, and case management.
- Assist with drafting and implementation of policies and procedures relating to the Company’s operations, administration, and other matters.
- Conduct legal research and provide advice on various legal issues in order to achieve the Company’s business objectives.
- Prepare and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and memoranda of law in various legal issues for both internal and external use.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed/assigned.

Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
- Must possess a Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree. (Required)
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing. (Required)
- Minimum three years of experience as a practicing attorney. (Required)
- Extensive legal research and drafting experience. (Required)
- Experience in collection or personal injury cases. (Preferred)
- Litigation experience either as an inside or outside counsel. (Preferred)
- Experience working in a large corporate or legal environment is a plus.
