Job Description

One of the nation's largest foodservice distribution companies is currently seeking assertive self-starters and career-minded Outside Sales Representatives for the STATE COLLEGE, PA market to sell the highest quality food service items and other related products to restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools, and other institutions.

Foodservice sales involves selling canned goods, frozen foods, fresh meat, fresh seafood, fresh produce, paper products, chemicals and other staples to our customer base.

Your Role as a Sales Representative

Sales Representatives for our Company are considered consultants. As a consultant, you will be responsible for finding, growing, and developing current and new customer opportunities. Some opportunities may include proposing new menu ideas, assisting in solving customer problems, researching and sharing industry and market information, encouraging client participation in food shows, introducing customers to company Product Specialists, following through on customer requests for information, and sampling products. You will also be responsible for assisting in the credit management of customers, which involves ensuring customers remain current with their invoices and asking for and collecting payment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish and/or maintain regular contact with existing accounts within assigned territory.

Perform cold calling/prospecting on a continuous basis to ensure new account development.

On an ongoing basis, investigate customer needs and provide customers with appropriate price and product information, and personal product knowledge.

Involvement in industry trade shows and new product presentations.

Maintain ongoing communication with supporting departments.

REQUIREMENTS

Who we are looking for people who have a passion for sales and have foodservice experience. More specifically, we are looking for candidates who possess general management, foodservice management, and/or outside sales representative experience or other related experience. Chefs, cooks, kitchen managers, and servers are highly encouraged to apply.

Specific Requirements Include:

Proven track record of sales achievements.

Candidates must have exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Strong presentation and relationship-building skills.

Must be enthusiastic and detail-oriented.

Must have great follow-through, a positive attitude, a record of meeting goals, and establishing customer relations.

Must be a self-starter, able to work without direct supervision.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is a commissioned sales position with unlimited earning potential. This is a terrific opportunity for someone who wants to manage his/her own schedule and work in the field. Beginning pay will be based on prior experience and qualifications.
