Insurance (Employee Benefits) Administration

Employee Benefits Insurance Agency located in San Jose, CA

Create a career in human resources, employee benefits account administration -- pursue your interest in employee health and welfare benefits, servicing multiple clients, plan design and benefits marketing, and general all-around office administrative support.

This role is part of an experienced account service team environment – mentoring and support is provided. For the right candidate we will train from the ground up, learning the trade for an Employee Benefits Account Manager. The ideal candidate is service-focused, personable and out-going with a commitment to exceptional client service. Responsibilities include:

  • Data entry of employee information and employee benefit elections into an online administration software program (EASE)
  • Process new enrollment forms, changes/termination to carriers online, e-mail or fax
  • Assist clients with eligibility questions (phone and email)
  • Maintain and generate reports including census data and premium contributions
  • Review carrier invoicing for accuracy upon request, assist with carrier billing reconciliations, review carrier invoices for discrepancies and work with team and insurance companies for resolution
  • Effectively partner with benefit carrier representatives to resolve outstanding client services issues
  • Inventory and organization of employee communication materials
  • Prepare and send new hire and open enrollment packets
  • Assist with renewal documents and maintain policy information
  • Submit and track status for new plan implementation and renewals
  • Maintain client email address in HR and Compliance software (Zywave)

Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance.

Employee's Choice: Four (4) eight (8) hour shifts or five (5) seven (7) hour shifts

We require:

  • AA or AS degree or higher. Alternative is equivalent in office administrative knowledge and skills
  • 1-3 years in an administrative or executive assistant role
  • General knowledge of employee benefits
  • Strong written communications skills
  • Intermediate level working with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel & PowerPoint
