As a Software Engineer, you will support our team in modernizing the NOTAM system for the FAA. Concept Solutions is currently building a team of the best Software Engineers in the world. • Apply experience with test driven development (TDD) and Spring Boot to design and modernize customer’s existing applications.
• Design and deploy CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Gitlab CI) to automate build process and deploy into numerous environments including an air-gapped environment.
• Work with ticketing systems, operational staff and quality assurance personnel to identify and fix software defects.
• Story point user stories and tasks to assist in determining velocity.
• Assist in development of Software Manuals and Help Guides.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid-agile environment that utilizes practices from both the agile and waterfall methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, avionics, environmental, or computer) from a college or university with a degree curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
• 15 years of experience in software development discipline such as Java, Web services, Database, or web application development
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
• Must have good oral and written communication skills
• Must be flexible and interested in learning and working with new technologies
• Must demonstrate an ability to work independently or under general direction on requirements that are moderately complex to analyze, plan, program, and implementation.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance

Required:

• Frameworks: Java 11+, JavaScript, Spring, React/Angular
• Databases: PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch
• Tools: Git/GitLab, Jira, Jenkins, IntelliJ IDE,
• Messaging: Kafka/other message broker services, modern data formats (JSON, XML, YAML), Camel
• Environments: Kubernetes, Docker/Containerization, WebSphere, RHEL/Unix environment,
• Cloud: Amazon Web Services
• Architecture: Microservices

Nice to have:

• Bash scripting, Jenkins, Ansible

Preferred experience:

• GIS concepts and FAA related data sets including but not limited to NOTAMs, pair programming, design documentation and presentation.

• Front-end web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JSON, Typescript.
