Job Description

 

Duration: 8+ month contract
Location: Woodland, CA

Job Title: Research Specialist: Plant Biologist

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Pay Rate: Based on experience

 

Overview: Working under the general supervision of a Team or Project Leader, and collaboratively with scientists across disciplines including chemistry, molecular biology, plant virology, pathology, entomology. Achieve excellence in research processes and on-time delivery of high quality data and results supporting crop protection research.

·         Develop, organize, and manage experiments including set up, data collection, analysis, reporting.

·         Develop and apply innovative bio-assay systems and molecular methods supporting technology assessments and delivery of product concepts for crop protection to improve productivity and sustainability in Agriculture.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

·         Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree plus three years of experience or a Master of Science degree in entomology, plant pathology, molecular biology, or a related discipline.

·         Minimum 3 years of experience in plant biology

·         Strong skills in plant biology research including working with plants, insects, plant pathogens, and chemicals in labs and controlled growth environments, and knowledge of data management and analysis.

·         Familiarity with molecular biology also beneficial.

·         Capable of clear communication; crisp, accurate, clear reports, presentations, and daily dialog.
