Responsibilities:

Manages mass production part ordering and delivery through effective planning, communication, and supplier interface. Apply technical and problem-solving skills to prevent impact to operations and support achievement of department targets.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing suppliers: material releases, purchase orders, service parts, and repair parts to meet production requirements
  • Issuing and ensuring the accuracy of required material releases (daily), purchase orders (monthly), service parts and repair parts as needed to meet production requirements. Accuracy to include BOM, parameter, ship to and from location. Verify orders are functionally acknowledged by supplier. Above include all OEM and export destinations.
  • Issue Trouble Reports to supplier from all originators internal and external. Verify accuracy of supportive documentation for DTR issuance. Monitor return for accuracy of countermeasure and timeliness. Hold supplier meetings to discuss all above as needed.
  • Issue design changes and follow-thru ensuring application timing for production requirements.
  • Monitor orders are acknowledged by supplier or intended recipient
  • Update receiving dashboard and resolve any receiving discrepancies
  • Order any concerned shortages and monitor supplier in-process for production volume changes
  • Attend and/or assist in the coordination of supplier meetings to discuss upcoming needs or resolve issues
  • Assist in the development of strategies to ensure targets are achieved
  • Research and recommend countermeasures for gaps and scheduling
  • Prepare presentations as assigned
  • Develop strategies, methodology and approach to ensure targets are achieved, able to assess gaps and assign countermeasures including detailed schedules and present as required.
  • Establish and maintain communication networks with supply base to promote positive relationship focused on delivery performance
  • Identify, evaluate, and escalate critical issues to management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources in a timely manner.

Daily Tasks:

  • Review and issuance of purchase orders through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) via 862/850/830
  • Issue, approve, and confirm supplier design changes
  • Issue delivery trouble reports via North American Reporting System (NARS) to applicable suppliers for root cause identification and countermeasure establishment
  • Issuance and review of exceptional transportation via system to ensure part delivery to meet packing/production requirements
  • Manage project related schedules, activity, and buyer performance tracking
  • Support Build Out part control and New Model start up processes

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum of 3 months relevant experience (co-op/internship experience included)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Position Factors (i.e. multi-plant assignment, work environment):
  • Work in a fast paced environment with demanding and critical deadlines.
  • Open office environment
  • Travel to suppliers
  • Be able to work weekends and/or shift change from 1st to 2nd shift to help provide support during peak times of year or as needed.

Estimated Amount of Overtime:

  • 2 – 5 Hours per week
