You have both a breadth of understanding of government contracting/subcontracting operations, as well as deeper expertise in HR and a desire to deepen continuously your HR skills and understanding. You are excited by new challenges, solving problems creatively, and appreciate the satisfaction of a job well done. You must have extensive experience working with a government contracting team, or learn to do so quickly, to be successful in this role.

The HR Administrator will report regularly to Chantilly, VA, office, and also collaborate remotely with our Boise, ID office. In this role you will track and administer applications, offers, employee onboarding processes; employee training, extended leave of absence and FMLA, pay raises and job changes, as well as resignations and terminations. You will be available during business hours to respond to calls and emails with cheer, skill, and tact. You will maintain and update compliance documentation and become the resident expert in policy and HR compliance issues.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The responsibilities and duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and refine recruitment processes, and keep our ATS .
  • Manage and administer benefit systems, learning management system, onboarding portal (in ADP Workforce Now).
  • Communicate effectively with candidates to establish job offers, and keep accurate and up-to-date data on position status, candidate status, job offers, onboarding paperwork, and so on.
  • Review and update onboarding paperwork, update and track employee forms, in both Word and PDF format.
  • Maintain fillable forms in PDF format, use some version control system, and organize PDFs using a logical organization framework. Be able to design and improve such a framework based on coworker/employee needs.
  • Tabulate form data, and other data, in spreadsheet format.
  • Maintain documentation and track changes to HR plans, policies, and benefits.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, delegate and collaborate effectively.
  • Assist the company’s Security Program through collaboration with in-house Facility Security Officer (FSO) in processing security clearances related paperwork.
  • HRIS (ADP), Time/Expenses (Deltek), Learning Management (WordPress), Applicant Tracking (JazzHR and ADP Workforce Now), background checks and drug testing (Verified First).
  • Periodic travel in the DC-area for employee/manager meetings or presentations may be required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Track record of learning, growth and increasing responsibilities in an HR and administrative roles, coupled with documented formal and informal HR training.
  • Possess, or desire to acquire, HR certifications or a bachelor’s degree in HR.
  • Track record of growth in responsibilities.
  • Experience working in a collaborative small team environment with high accountability.
  • Track record of initiating projects that add value to a government contracting business.
  • Minimum 2 years working in a government contracting firm.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to help others.
  • Desire and ability to solve novel problems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong research & technical writing skills.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working with employees under multiple SCA contracts.
  • Experience in supporting payroll/administration of benefits with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Expertise in compliance with federal regulations for Federal Service Contracts and the Service Contract Act (SCA), OFCCP, ADA, EEO, FLSA, Department of Labor and Worker’s Comp.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and relevant advanced level coursework/ human resource certifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Virginia labor laws preferred.
  • Ability to learn New Software quickly
  • Experience creating/developing training materials.
  • Ability to support small, cross-functional, distributed team using collaborative web technology (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Egnyte, etc.)
  • Excellent relationship builder.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel to and from nearby worksites may be required occasionally.
