Job Description

Customer Service Representative
Compass Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Representative.  The person we are
seeking should be well organized, self-motivated, computer proficient, and excited to grow in an
evolving environment.  The candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills, as the
position requires daily interaction within the company as well as externally.

Responsibilities for the position include: Building relationships with field sales reps, international
distributors, addressing needs in emails and phone calls, providing all required information to
the reps, and participating in all other aspects of the Customer Service team.  Previous customer service experience (+3 years) is required and experience with Microsoft Office, PC’s is also needed.  Prior ERP experience is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Serves customers by providing product and service information and resolving product
•    and service problems.
•    Identify, research, and resolve customer problems using various tools such as business
     systems, product literature, and internal resources.
•    Reply to inquiries regarding credit status, shipping status, order confirmations, etc.
•    Maintains customer records by updating account information.
•    Utilize a variety of business systems understanding of standard operating procedures.
•    Aggressively pursue continued knowledge in a growing product line.
•    Coordinate with warehouse staff to maintain proper documents
•    All activities related to the shipment process, including specific customer requirements
     and phone and email regarding delivery scheduling.
•    Collaborate with colleagues to find solutions to issues that may arise with delays,
     damaged product or backordered items
•    Schedule delivery method for shipments (i.e., USPS/Fed Ex) including international
     shipments (i.e., Forwarders/LTL)

Qualifications/ Requirements:
•    Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills.
•    Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality while displaying initiative and
•    stress tolerance.
•    Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.
•    Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
•    Previous Customer Service/ Logistics experience (preferred within a manufacturing or
•    distribution environment)
•    Familiarity with office software and phone systems a plus
•    Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), ERP (Sage100) a plus
