Job Summary

General Description

In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Marketing Interns to promote the dining program at California State Unviersity, East Bay. This involves the designing and editing of marketing materials, presentations, newsletter and all other graphic design needs for Nevada Dining. This is not your average internship; you will be spearheading various projects and will be able to request assignments to expand your knowledge base. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested in gaining real world experience and building their design portfolio.


Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

Customer service experience/knowledge

Previous graphic design experience

Good to better interpersonal skills

General interest and knowledge

Knowledge of social media platforms

Prior marketing related experience is a plus

Software Applications Required For Job

Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access (optional)

Adobe InDesign CC

Adobe Lightroom CC

Adobe Photoshop CC

Adobe Illustrator CC

Adobe Acrobat Pro

Adobe Premiere Pro (Plus)

Adobe After Effects CC (Plus)

Job Responsibilities (May Include Any or All)

Assist with designing marketing pieces for promotions and events

Assist designing collateral for digital channels such as website, social media, email marketing.

Updated graphics on website (Dine on Campus)

Act as a brand representative

Conduct marketing audits

Collaborate and coordinate with other interns on various projects

Assist in developing client newsletters and communications

Assist with the creation of concepts, campaigns, and imagery to effectively communicate messages to the target market

Assist in managing website and social networking profile content

Attend meetings or other events as required

Development of branding materials.

Creation of video, presentation, digital, print, and email materials.

Manages necessary website updates.

Proofread/edit communication materials including monthly newsletter prior to distribution.

Assist with promotion planning, scheduling and coordination.

Perform other duties as requested

Learning Objectives

Demonstrate awareness, understanding and skills necessary to work in a diverse environment.

Learn how to use multiple platforms and strategies to effectively promote a brand
