The Senior Associate, Strategic Marketing & Corporate Communications is responsible for communicating with management, internal departments, clients, and vendors to coordinate overall marketing and corporate communications activities. The Senior Associate, Strategic Marketing & Corporate Communications manages and coordinates all paid initiatives on behalf of the CMI Media Group and Compas brands and sub-brands, aligned to corporate goals, including advertising, conferences, analytics, corporate measurements, marketing materials, and events.
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Marketing Communications
- Assess and understand industry needs, pain points, and opportunities. Includes conducting and analyzing research
- Creation of sales and marketing materials for all company brands
- Creation of sales and marketing materials for multiple departments within CMI Media Group and Compas
- Creates, implements and supports communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products including graphics, brochures, company or product fact sheets, logos, or other promotional products
- Develops and implements strategic internal marketing plans. Stays abreast of changes in the marketing environment to best serve the objectives of the organization and adjusts plans accordingly
- Makes recommendations for and supports CMI Media Group and Compas presence at conferences and industry events
- Tracking, recording and analyzing results of all marketing campaigns
- Analyze projects and determine successful campaigns versus underperformers, evident in analytics reporting
- Owns CRM and ClickDimensions tool implementation for client contacts and supports management of email sends for agency, as well as best practices for the tools’ use
- Identifying appropriate advertising channels and planning yearly corporate advertising schedules
- Building and maintaining relationships with sales reps for advertising and sponsorships; negotiating optimum opportunities, completing media buys
- Supports the WPP Vantage client survey process and platform
- Supports client pitches and RFPs through the creation of new materials, proofing content, and coordination of promotional needs
- Maintaining a weekly and Monthly competitive analysis
- Supports budget recommendations and tracking.
- Has back-end website knowledge, particularly Wordpress and Google Analytics
- Implements strategies and tactics that support the CMI Media Group and Compas brands, particularly aligned to thought leadership and recruitment goals
Events management
- Manages the strategy, budgeting, and planning for company-wide CMI Media Group and Compas events
- Oversees and coordinates logistics for events in connection with the company including executive strategy meeting, holiday party, summer party. Oversees coordination of client-facing events such as offsite meetings. Assists with or oversees client-facing promotional events such as new product launch and booth space at industry conferences.
- Supports internal and external event and meeting planning and logistics including researching venues, negotiating with suppliers, managing budget and staffing event.
- Understand strategic needs of account and sales teams. Provides feedback to vendors for items, within budget, to be used by teams.
- Attending conferences and seminars to support PR objectives and to share industry learnings for client benefit
Client Learning
- Attending conferences and seminars to support Marketing objectives and to share industry learnings for client benefit
- Assists in development of client-facing learning deliverables including The Scoop and POVs
Basic Skills
- Understanding of corporate goals and new business initiatives to provide support
- Oversight of branded promotional items for employee and company use
- Recommendation of participation in appropriate industry awards and events
- Assisting with special projects requiring PR support as needed
- Support management of department CRM and mailing lists
- Providing input for department budget and managing expenses
- Oversight of and/or management of invoicing and billing in coordination with Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Training and development of intern as needed
Requirements:
- Deep social media paid campaign knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Self-starter, proactive, resourceful, shows leadership qualities
- Enthusiastic, creative, detail-oriented
- Background in Marketing, PR, Advertising and/or Journalism
- Experience in/understanding of social media, SEO, analytics, event planning
- Comfortable knowledge of WordPress and Google Analytics
- Comfortable networking
- Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate
- Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, with a team, and with all levels of staff
- 4-6 years of experience
