This senior position is responsible for leading and executing strategic objectives related to appraisal acquisition, review and approval according to all of the rules and regulations. The successful candidate is an experienced member of the appraisal community and are well versed in the appraisal topics and issues of the day. This position is also responsible to remain current on all company policies and procedures, as well as investor and agency guidelines. It also requires successful experience in managing and mentoring new or less tenured appraisal specialists for development toward new/increased appraisal knowledge, a proven track record of exceptional customer service, demonstrated ability to provide leadership, and commitment to honoring Embrace values in the workplace.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED Technical Knowledge, Years of Related Experience, Skills, Licenses, and Systems Experience A. Education: College Degree in Business or Finance preferred, but not required. B. Experience: Experience in the Mortgage Industry C. Skills: Must be a certified appraiser experienced in Conforming and Government; Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Skilled communicator and presenter; Ability to manage complex problem solving; Able to work both independently and collaboratively D. Additional Requirements: Recommendation from two colleagues in the industry; Appraisal industry group membership; Appraisal industry group designation TRAINING REQUIRED Participate in additional training on sales, technology, products, procedures and pricing on an ongoing basis. Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner. RESPONSIBILITIES • Review appraisals for residential mortgage loans in accordance with VA/HUD and internal guidelines ensuring compliance with company and investor standards • Communicate loan decisions to loan team • Drive a production team to meet quality and customer service objectives • Ensure all fair lending practices and compliance commitments are upheld • Must provide Appraisal training/mentoring to Underwriters, Credit Officers, and Loan Officers, Appraisal specialists • Performing such duties and assuming other responsibilities as may be assigned • All other duties that may be assigned by the Department Manager
