Facilities Specialist

The Building Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for working with the Facilities Manager to oversee building and equipment maintenance to ensure safe and supported work environment for all CORA staff and client services. The Building Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the CORA buildings. This is a high-profile position which requires the candidate to be onsite and able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management on a daily basis.

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

WORK STATUS: Part Time Hourly, Minimum 20 hours per week. Flexible hours to be performed between 8-4, Monday through Friday. Available for off hours support when necessary.


  • Perform building and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to maintenance calls and when needed, to emergency maintenance and safety calls.
  • Identify repair needs and conduct small repairs, and report to Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with scheduling and supervising vendors for larger or complex repairs.
  • Working with facilities team members, move furniture and other office and client related items as necessary.
  • Drive to and pick up items that need to be brought to facilities.
  • Proactively test building security systems and promote safety within the building.
  • Maintain current inventory of equipment and supply needs, including furniture, telecommunications (onsite), kitchen appliances, office equipment, and climate control so that staff and programs have the necessary tools for program delivery. Report needs for new or additional equipment to the Facilities Manager.
  • Ensure vendors perform ongoing services, such as for coolers, janitorial, bug infestation etc. are appropriately scheduled and are meeting expectations.
  • Monitor and proactively maintain inspection of all systems and services related to facility core system safety including backflow, fire extinguishers, alarms, video cameras, plumbing etc.
  • Under direction of the Facilities Manager, maintain essential systems like plumbing and lighting.
  • Proactively inspect, review and maintain all key boxes, panic buttons, security alarms and video cameras and any other core systems for all off-site facilities
  • In partnership with Facilities Manager, ensure the warehouse is kept organized and that only current and useful materials are continuously stored.
  • Maintain inventory systems for facility managed resources such as keys, fobs, and all IT hardware.
  • Proactively assist departments in setting up works spaces for new staff or when staff change workstation assignments.
  • Assisting in the documentation of processes and keep maintenance records current.
  • Assist in CORA special event set up and take down, both on and off-site.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Experience with hands-on building maintenance.
  • Some knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and electrical work or repair preferred.
  • Able to lift 50-75 pounds, and has training in moving large and heavy items.
  • Current Driver's license, insurance and clean driving record.
