Job Description
Office Assistant – Family Service Centers in Salinas, CA
Job summary: Secretarial, clerical and reception duties in busy Family Service Centers.
Responsible for telephone and front desk coverage. Duties include answering telephones; taking and distributing messages; opening and distributing mail; receiving, logging and distributing faxes; requisitioning and ordering office supplies; performing “mail runs,” coordinating maintenance work with vendors; establishing priorities for task completion with Office Manager; managing conference room calendars calendar for various uses; assisting with photocopying and assembling program materials, assisting with filing, creating letters, memos, and reports. Maintains confidentiality when dealing with staff and client matters and provides excellent customer service and accurate program information to individuals inquiring about services. Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications: The Office Assistant must be organized, self-motivated and exercise good judgment. Must be able to perform general secretarial duties. Requires good office skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. High school diploma or GED required. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff and medical professionals. Ability to take direction and work under general supervision. Ability to work effectively and responsibly in a professional setting. Ability to work effectively under stress and conflict. Ability to be flexible and adaptable in any given situation. Maintains boundaries with clients.

Starting salary $3,066-$3,381 monthly. Additional 5% if bilingual (E/S). Generous benefits package including medical, vision and dental. AA/EOE.
