Job Description Community Hospital Corporation, Plano, TX seeks a Corporate Chief Nursing Officer to provide temporary Interim CNO coverage at various hospitals throughout the United States. The Corporate CNO will travel throughout the system to provide daily clinical operations support on an as needed basis, and will serve an interim facility CNO. When not traveling, this role will be based in our Plano, Texas corporate office. The CNO Traveler has ultimate administrative responsibility for nursing standards and practice regardless of the facility or practice area.
Our CNO Traveler will direct hospital nursing activities and ensure that nursing standards, practices, policies, and procedures are in accordance with all applicable laws, regulatory and accreditation requirements. They collaborate with hospital leaders to provide patient care and services, including availability of sufficient, qualified nursing staff. The CNO is responsible for providing direction for all areas of Nursing, including but not limited to: developing budgets, developing overall nursing plan and patient care policies, and ensuring adequate hospital coverage and quality care. This position will work collaboratively with facility, division and corporate leadership to improve key nursing-driven metrics and overall nursing operations. Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes. Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related clinical field * Masters in Nursing or related field is highly preferred * Must hold current RN license in good standing, or have the ability to be licensed in the State of Texas * Plano based position * Ability to travel up to 90% of the time. * Current driver's license and good driving record. Experience * A minimum of five years of direct patient care experience in an acute care setting is required. * Must show evidence of competency in supervising patient care services through a minimum of 3 years CNO experience * Previous consulting experience helpful * Multi-hospital leadership preferred * Rural or small hospital experience desirable Skills and Knowledge * Maintains compliance with all applicable laws, hospital accreditations, licensures regulatory requirements, and designations (applicable to Nursing) in good standing. Acts promptly to comply with required regulatory changes. * Ability to travel and live away from home for extended periods of time on an ongoing basis (90% of the time). * Is actively committed to quality of patient care, treatment, and services.
