Physician Assistant - Outpatient Only - Pediatric

We are a private outpatient pediatric clinic located in the heart of Fayetteville, NC. Calvary Pediatrics is proud of our new office that was completed in February 2010 which is located one block from Cape Fear Valley hospital. The office is a busy, well-established “Kid Friendly” pediatric practice in a state-of-the-art medical facility that serves a diverse population. Must be a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician or APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant). In this position, you will receive excellent compensation, along with great benefits.

Position Summary:

Full /Part-time excellent job opportunity available for an MD, PA, or NP (Pediatric experience a plus) to join this friendly, team-oriented staff at our pediatric practice in Fayetteville, NC. The focus is on providing the absolute highest level of quality pediatric care. There is no attendance at the cesarean section and no night call. Availability of hospitalists for acute ward care as well. This position is full/part-time with a one-weekend call for well Newborn babies and no nights.

Here, the physicians provide great mentorship as needed for faculty and staff. The hours for this role are M-F 8-5 with 1 in 4-weekend rotation.

What our providers do:

• Maintain collegial relationships with supervising MD and other providers
• Provide primary care to patients
• Record patient medical histories
• Perform initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
• Set up and monitor medical equipment
• Order and administer diagnostic tests
• Communicate test results to patients and their families
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment
• Instruct patients and their families about best practices at home
• Refer patients to specialists as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of current medical theory, regulations, and practices to give and evaluate patient care
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/ maintain a safe work environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Desire to work in an outpatient facility
• Ability to work effectively with all practice departments to ensure excellent patient care
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Strong understanding of the needs of diverse and underserved communities
• Eclinical works EMR knowledge a plus but not required
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) with experience serving a multinational, multiracial population a plus but not required
