Job Description

Become an integral part of our team today!  Seeking a Peer Specialist to work 24 hours on our Integrated Health Home Team.  You will assist in facilitating the care and well-being of the adults in our program.  As a member of this multidisciplinary team, you will share in the experience of helping to better the lives of individuals by sharing your lived experiences of mental illness and/or addiction to help others.   Looking for individuals with an outgoing and engaging personality to connect with people, ability to work and communicate effectively and most of all the desire to make a difference in the lives of others.  Your role is to educate peers about self-help techniques, teach effective coping strategies, help peers clarify goals for recovery and help peers to identify and develop natural support systems in their lives.  

Education License/Certification Requirements:  High School diploma or equivalent.  Have successfully completed and passed a Co-occurring Peer Specialist training program endorsed by BHDDH and possess (or be eligible for) IC/RC state certification (CPRS). In addition, have maintained, within the last three (3) years, at least 12 months of successful full or part time paid or voluntary work experience (not necessarily consecutive) or one-year post-secondary education experience totaling 24 credit hours.  Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable vehicle required.  Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply!
