Substance Abuse Program Manager- LCAS Preferred (Durham)

The Program Manager has broad responsibility for the oversight and operations of the Durham office. The primary role is to provide supervision and management over the daily delivery of all directly provided and contracted services for the site; ensure business operations are working effectively and efficiently; troubleshoot operational and clinical problems that arise and; ensure program is meeting business and clinical performance targets. The Program Manager will also make recommendations for ongoing program improvement.

The Program Manager works closely with program supervisors and direct care staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards to carry out the agencies’ strategic goals, and identifies current and emerging issues related to good clinical and business practice. A primary responsibility of this position is to implement and monitor compliance with evidence based practices.

The Program Manager will develop reports targeting key business performance areas including but not limited to; intake, authorized versus used units of service, level of care changes; admissions & discharges; daily census; marketing actions and results; client compliance; annual grant reports; monthly program reports; quarterly state reports; bi-annual state block grant reports; mileage and credit card reports; and other reports as assigned. The program manager will ensure weekly meetings (telephonic and/or face-to-face) with key program staff will be used to strategically manage program operations and quickly address poor performance and support staff development.

The Program Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of policies & procedures, and compliance as it relates to grants and current funding sources. The Program Manager will assist the State Director of Substance Abuse Services in identifying, developing and implementing strategic initiatives related to revenue maximization.


LCAS- License Clinical Addiction Specialist, preferred. Master's degree in a human services field, including social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, business administration and business management. Ideal candidate will have at least two years of documented experience working directly with individuals who have substance abuse diagnoses. Ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in a management position supervising others and 2 years of program management experience preferably in a non-profit setting. Proficiency at the intermediate level with Microsoft Office Suite is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
