Job Description

Position: Sr. Lead Direct Support Professional (Residential)

Department: Residential Program (VA)

FLSA: Non-exempt/hourly

Department Head: Vice President – VA Programs

Supervisor: Residential House Manager

Essential Personnel: Yes, must report to work in all weather conditions

Full-time: Available Shifts: Day Shift

Locations: Chesapeake, Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach

Mission of the Position:

This position is expected to provide leadership, mentorship and direction to the Direct Support Professionals. The Senior Direct Support Professional position is responsible for providing hands on direct care and assistance to Individuals with disabilities in all activities relating to daily living skills, personal hygiene skills, and physical and social integration within a community based residential program. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handles program management at assigned sites to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for the consumers.
  • This includes but is not limited to following all CAI medication policies, following guidelines received in blood borne pathogens training, adhering to the principles and practices learned in TOVA, and demonstrating an understanding of agency Policies and Procedures
  • Maintaining and managing petty cash to include: receipts from petty cash expenditures, completing weekly expense ledger, properly coding expenses to the correct budget line item, balancing receipts and cash on hand and ensuring petty cash is utilized properly
  • Ensures documentation for quarterly reports is completed and given to the assigned QMRP in a timely manner to allow for quarterlies to be completed and sent to appropriate agencies
  • Coordinates, documents, and/or reports all activities related to consumer services that occur during day program hours
  • Accepts and performs routine duties and responsibilities of the position and accepts direction and leadership from assigned supervisor in various sites
  • Attends meetings and training, as scheduled or assigned
  • Other duties may be assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides oversight and direction to Direct Support Professionals to ensure program schedule is being followed and Daily Activities are implemented as planned
  • Ensures Direct Support Professionals are properly documenting consumer progress in daily progress notes
  • Provides support to Direct Support Professionals to ensure ISP outcomes are being properly followed and support provided to consumers assigned
