Job Description
The Human Resource Generalist supports the daily functions of Human Resources including hiring and interviewing, compensation, benefits administration, leave of absence and policy administration, compliance reporting, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and other staff with complex, specialized, and/or sensitive questions and issues; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, employee disciplinary meetings, and terminations.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leaves, exit interviews and performance and talent management.
  • Respond to employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR team member(s).
  • Conduct new hire orientation and manage on-boarding process.
  • Manage workers comp injuries and illnesses including accident investigations, annual OSHA reporting, and training managers on documenting and reporting incidents.
  • Manage employee leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, Workers Comp, etc.).
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies.
  • Create and update HR policies, job descriptions, offer letters, and postings.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
  • Administer and maintain training system, records and ensure training frequency requirements for managers and employees.
  • Prepare and submit reports to comply with state and federal requirements including EEO-1, CA Pay Data Reporting, etc.
  • Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and/or employee experience.
  • Assist with annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Align best practices and implement company policies and processes for multiple locations and states.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required or equivalent work experience with SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.
Minimum 5 years ofhuman resource generalist experience at least 3 years with multistate, preferably California.
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with multi-site HR administration and/or with working in an international environment (USA / Canada / Europe), a plus.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills - (intermediate level).
  • Proficiency with HRIS system, ADP WFN experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ISO 9000 industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a high growth environment with the ability to multitask.
  • Experience managing COVID-19 communications, reporting, and maintaining current guidelines.
  • Requires valid Drivers License and proof of automobile insurance.
