How You'll Make a Difference

The Product Manager serves as the primary subject matter expert of Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative's (CGHC's) existing product line. The manager works closely with the operating leaders to support, inform, monitor, and refine strategies and tactics for existing product lines. As the lead in planning, delivery, and in-life optimization of our products, the Manager will ensure that existing products: respond to the needs of our members and target members; support CGHC's mission, strategy, and brand; strengthen our competitive advantage, increase membership, and contribute to financial sustainability. The Product Manager is an expert in understanding all regulatory and compliance requirements; and provides clear communication of those requirements within the organization.

Utilize Your Skills By:

  • Develop and implement the product roadmap for assigned product lines.
  • Design and ensure an effective and efficient product management process, including the successful completion of the annual QHP Application.
  • Ensures timelines are developed and adheres to those timelines.
  • Effective and thorough communication of changes into organization.
  • Work closely with Compliance and General Counsel, to ensure all products are compliant with the regulatory requirements and state/federal laws and policies.
  • Evaluate existing product line competitors, trends, and industry data to improve existing products.
  • Provide Sales & Marketing with insights on key differentiators and messages.
  • Manage all aspects of in-life products, including internal and external feedback, new and changing requirements, and other applicable issues that may arise.
  • Participate in internal, and where appropriate external broker, sales meetings with the opportunity to gain and deliver analysis and insights.
  • Identify, develop, and track data-driven insights to stakeholders for market and product productivity, and opportunities for growth and improved profitability.
  • Assist, as requested, to educate external audiences about products, give presentations to groups, and advise and provide information to key members and stakeholders.
  • Perform competitive and environmental scans that assist the organization to formulate detailed strategies for success.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need to Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited university, preferably with coursework in subjects such as marketing, economics, product management, statistics, market research and business writing or relevant experience.
  • Five-plus years of experience in health insurance and knowledge or insurance terminology, concepts, and benefit designs.
  • Knowledge of and experience in health insurance products required.
  • Experience with QHP Application process highly preferred.
  • Experience in working with data to track and analyze trends and performance, and succinctly present themes to management.
  • Proficiency in the following: use of internet for secondary research; project management; word processing; spreadsheet; data management and mining; and presentation applications. (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau preferred)
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels and all departments.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail (mastery)
  • Presentation and public speaking skills/experience.
  • Experience managing and influencing teams that are not direct reports.
  • Ability to analyze and understand large sums of data.
