Summary
You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT in the COMMAND
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE of NAVSTA GREAT LAKES IL.

Responsibilities
  • You will screen correspondence and statements prepared for
signature for content, accuracy, compliance with policies, and
completeness of response.
  • You will use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and
Adobe Acrobat to prepare a variety of documents, correspondence,
and reports in accordance with established guidelines
  • You will maintain organizational and administrative standard
operating procedures, directives, policies, and other guidelines
to ensure compliance with an organization's mission.
  • You will prepare correspondence for correct grammar, spelling,
and punctuation.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must

requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of
retired military members within 180 days immediately following
retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the
provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or
final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance
may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized
experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in
the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or
public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the
following: 1)Applying knowledge of Department of Defense and
Department of the Navy directive for safeguarding security
information, personnel and classified material.2)Providing technical
and administrative support assistance to subordinates, superiors,
and higher echelon.3)Communicating orally and in writing to conduct
training and provide guidance on naval correspondence preparation
and administration procedures.4)Utilizing office advance software
and hardware to produce graphics or tables, import and export data
to word processing, enter, correct and retrieve recurring reports
and specialized reports.
