JOB SUMMARY

Comlux America, LLC is an aircraft completion center based in Indianapolis, IN. We are certified to AS9100, ISO9001, AS9110 and are an FAA 145 Repair Station. As such, we must comply with high standards of quality and efficiency, and the Quality Assurance Auditor is an integral part of this process.

The Quality Assurance Auditor reports to the Quality organization and works closely with all functional areas of the business line. This role performs internal audits, conducts special investigations, facilitates continuous improvement projects, and oversees external suppliers through audits and risk assessments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the skills, aptitudes, and abilities to perform the following duties:

  1. Perform internal audits of the Comlux Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that internal processes are compliant and effective.
  2. Communicates audit findings and corrective action plans to appropriate leadership.
  3. Review continuous improvement suggestions and support process owners with implementation.
  4. Follow-up on completed continuous improvement projects to ensure that the result met the intention.
  5. Assist with improvements to internal operating procedures, processes and work instructions to ensure continued compliance to quality standards.
  6. Support management in the development and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) of various processes using MS Excel & Power Point.
  7. Initiate, follow-up, track and closure of Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
  8. Assist process owners with root cause analysis.
  9. Coordinate and support 3rd party auditors including audit preparation, auditor escorting, and follow-up on post-audit actions as directed by your manager.
  10. Assist in the development and maintenance of QMS certifications.
  11. Assist in the initial approval and renewal of various countries air certificates.
  12. Contribute to the training of QMS procedures, processes and work instructions.
  13. Review and approve low risk suppliers through self-surveys and QMS certifications.
  14. Conduct risk assessments of higher risk procurement and communicate results to key stakeholders.
  15. Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule.
  16. Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.
  17. Assist suppliers with understanding Comlux supplier requirements.
  18. Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
  19. Assist management with the initiation, follow-up, tracking and closure of Supplier Non-Conformance Reports (SNRs).
  20. Resolve supplier quality problems through email, phone, or direct meetings.
  21. Issue corrective actions to suppliers when needed, and review the corrective actions submitted by suppliers for acceptance or rejection.
  22. All other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

  1. HS Diploma or GED
  2. 3+ years of aviation or aerospace experience including manufacturing, repair stations, or airlines is preferred.
  3. Experience in performing root cause analysis on failures.
  4. Airframe & Powerplant license is an advantage.
  5. Lean Six Sigma qualified, Black or Green Belt is an advantage.
  6. Certified Quality Auditor to ISO 9001 or similar preferred.
  7. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Strong knowledge of FAA and EASA certification processes preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9110, ISO9001 standards, as well as FAA and EASA parts 21 and 145 requirements.
  1. Problem solving skills.
  2. Negotiating skills.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to represent the company professionally, sharing ideas and information clearly at all levels.
  4. High level of accuracy and attention to details. Must be extremely thorough and precise.
  5. Proficient computer skills in MS Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment described here is representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The QA Auditor works primarily in an office environment but should expect to spend a significant amount of time in workshops and at supplier production facilities or on the hangar floor. This job is scheduled at a standard work week, but flexibility in working hours will be expected, weekend and overtime is possible.

The office building where this position works is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues in the immediate vicinity of the workstation. The employee in this position will experience occasional outdoor exposure to heat, cold, and environmental elements when duties require the Auditor's presence in the hangar, workshops, or at a supplier's facility.
