Starting Pay Range - $17.31 / hr - $18.71 / hr

Summary:

To promote socialization, recovery, self-advocacy, development of natural supports, and maintenance of community living skills for individuals as well as groups.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with client to give supportive counseling
  • Assess needs of a client with consumers participating
  • Coordinate the client with community involvement
  • Connecting with natural supports. Development of supports: including resources for housing, medication management, finding a primary caregiver, ect.
  • Assist client to tailor goals for daily well being
  • Provide community living skills along with connecting with community
  • Facilitate groups
  • Implementation of peer support services
  • Provide transportation to clients
  • Care Coordination
  • Create relationships with landlords and other resources to help individuals retrieve necessary housing or other support that may be needed.

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and community at large.
  • Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience providing certified peer support services.
  • Knowledge of the impact of mental health and substance abuse disorders on day-to-day functioning.
  • Knowledge of Clark County community resources preferred.

Education Requirements, Certification and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Washington State Peer Certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Prior or present experience in a support role, preferably in a social service, homeless advocacy, or employment services setting
  • Good interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a cooperative team.

Other Requirements:

  • Annual TB testing
  • Maintain valid driver's license and appropriate automobile liability insurance
