The Construction Project Manager (CPM) scope, plan, and administer the design and construction process for multiple projects at one time within the existing built environment of CMH’s facilities including satellite locations and residential properties.  Projects are diverse and can be high-risk with a great degree of complexity. CPMs are accountable for regulatory agency requirements, coordinating the work of project teams, multiple internal service providers, outside contractors, and consulting design professionals.  They are responsible for defining and managing project scope, schedule, and budget while engaging and motivating teams, and developing and maintaining relationships with their teams and project stakeholders.  

CPMs are expected to have hands-on skills and are expected to perform maintenance and construction services in addition to performing project management duties. The amount of hands-on construction/maintenance work and project management work will be determined by the priorities and ongoing construction projects of the organization.  The CPM reports to the Facilities Manager and working with the Facilities Manager will be accountable for Interim/Alternative Life and Fire Safety measures during construction projects and working with the Infection Prevention nurse for all ICRA forms to maintain organizational compliance and infection prevention safety.

Job Requirements 
Working knowledge of boilers, fuel, steam systems, heating, air conditioning, and basic knowledge of electrical equipment and systems.   Knowledge of Fire Alarm and Security systems.  Construction and regulatory compliance.  The ability to use word processing, spreadsheet programs on a computer required.  Demonstrated skill in communication, assessment and facilitation required. Experience in reading AutoCAD or similar programs, construction project management software, and virtual meeting software required.  Must work well with others and have good customer service skills

Licensure/Certification
Certified Healthcare Construction Manager preferred through the American Society of Healthcare Engineering.  Eligible for a general contractor license and bond, preferred but not required.

Education and/or Experience
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Planning, Architecture or similar plus five (5) years of relevant project management, site superintendent/foreman, or owner’s representative experience. Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in lieu of degree. Knowledge of NFPA codes, FGI Standards, AIA Standards, Oregon Administrative Rules, construction/remodeling, and safety rules and regulations.  Experience in general maintenance work such as carpentry, painting, simple mechanical and electrical repairing preferred.  Healthcare construction experience preferred.
