Environmental water testing - Project Manager

Columbia Laboratories are looking to fill an open position in our Environmental Water testing department for an experienced project manager.

Duties:

  • Oversee environmental sample processing, provide a pro-active and timely project/study communication with the clients to maximize client satisfaction and continuing relationships as the primary point of contact between the laboratory team and client.
  • Professionally handle the pressure of aggressive deadlines while maintaining data quality.
  • Responsible for secondary review of data entry, daily reporting of finalized reports, and communication with clients.
  • Report client data to State regulatory authorities.
  • Distribute invoices and field minor accounting inquiries.
  • Take appropriate actions and escalate to management or other functional and site leaders if services and projects deviate from expectations.
  • Ensure that the client file is accurate, maintained, complete, and self-explanatory such that it will pass a regulatory inspection during the lifetime of the study, and at any time after closure in line with the prevailing regulations at the time of the study.
  • Support and work with QA, be present during audits, and present requested data.
  • Ensure timely resolution of corrective actions assigned to the Project Managers.
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner and aligned to company health and safety policy, as amended from time to time and in compliance with Columbia Food Labs quality standards.
  • Lead, manage, and support assigned projects to surpass laboratory standards in a competitive and fluid business environment.
  • Participates as needed in special department projects.
  • Professionally handle the pressure of aggressive deadlines while maintaining data quality.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities and capable of successfully carrying out a variety of detailed tasks.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned from time to time by the General Manager or Client Operations Manager.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent years of experience in project management

Skills & Experience:

  • Three to five years of experience in a laboratory
  • Three to five years successfully interacting with clients and/or the public on a routine basis.
  • Basic understanding of the laboratory business and inter-departmental relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to assume steadily increasing levels of
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Intermediate office computer skills (Adobe, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Prior experience using a multi-line IP phone system.
  • Flexibility to perform duties in other areas as needed.
  • Background in chemistry and/or accounting are a major plus.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This job operates in a typical office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel

Travel is not expected but may occasionally occur for sales, marketing and educational/career development purposes.
