Pool Side Café/Market Server

Position Title: The Market Server

Reports To: The Market Supervisor

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Market supervisors, a server is responsible for excellent quick food and beverage service in the Market. They must maintain a clear knowledge and understanding of menus and job tasks. They will help maintain and keep the cafe clean and organized throughout their shift. In addition they must be able to follow all club policies. They must treat each member and their guests with a warm welcome and great respect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Follow guidelines for the particular job assigned including taking orders, running food, servicing the patio, and expediting.
2. Follow the opening and closing duties explained by the supervisors including but not limited to cleaning of equipment, washing dishes, and stocking items.
3. Greet members and their guests with a warm Columbia welcome each and every day.
4. Answer questions, suggest menu items and inform members and their guests of specials and menu changes.
5. Work as a team with supervisors, cooks, and other servers.
6. Take members orders, enter them into a POS system, serve drinks, and know prep items.
7. Be familiar with the items sold in the caf and follow-up questions that need answered when a member orders.
8. Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
9. Arrive on time to each shift with a positive attitude wearing the uniform appropriately that is given at the beginning of the season.
10. Help clean machines when the supervisors designate a day for this task.
11. Attends any pre-shift meetings called by supervisors or management.
12. Completes other appropriate assignments made by the supervisor.

Essential Qualifications:

• Able to handle a fast pace working environment
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to handle the sun for long periods of time
• Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English
• Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
