Job Description

The Systems Specialist position reports to the America’s ServiceDesk manager and is responsible for the coordination and support for IT related issues for North America and Latin America. The areas of support include but are not limited to: level 1 and level 2 service desk calls/activities, especially in the areas of desktop/laptop computers, iPhones and app support, network infrastructure, office automation applications and end-user assistance for all assigned applications/processes supported by our business. This position requires a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Follow proper ticket handling process as outlined in our IT Infrastructure Handbook
  • Understand the needs for employees working remotely and have skills and knowledge to support quickly and efficiently. 
  • High proficiency using remote meeting technologies (Teams, etc).  These tools are key to the success of our workforce being able to work remotely while maintaining efficiency and keeping productivity levels high.
  • Installation and maintenance of personal computers, printers, and mobile devices support including iPhone and iPad and follow global guidelines for recording of assets in CMDB
  • Observe the confidentiality of any data or text encountered while dealing with support problems.
  • Provide detailed advice and guidance to our users in the effective use of systems, products and services available to them; demonstrate ingenuity in applying knowledge to non-standard situations.
  • General understanding of the configuration and management of our network and Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Assist users in making more effective use of desktop systems and mobile devices while investigating complex problem situations to diagnose underlying causes and helping users to recover or continue operation.
  • Maintains individual technical expertise in the rapidly changing technology.
  • Create knowledge articles for Knowledge Base System (ServiceNow)
  • Look for innovative ideas / areas to help the Service Desk team become more efficient
  • Performs special projects as deemed necessary by the Americas Service Desk Manager

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Associates degree in computer science or related field preferred. Microsoft certification preferred.
  • Occasional travel to supported sites in North America (1-2 weeks per year)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required as this position interacts directly with all associates
  • Ability to resolve problems in a logical, timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to understand and clearly relate to all members of the organization.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to quickly ascertain new technologies and techniques.
  • Prefer at least 3-5 years’ experience of technical support for applications and hardware including.

                -Microsoft Outlook and Exchange Server environment

                -Wired and Wireless networking technologies

                -Mobile electronics including iPad and iPhone

                -Desktop and Laptop imaging

                 

Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Participate in paid on-call rotation for after hours and weekend support
  • Always assist and support end users/customers with patience and professionalism via Teams, telephone, in person, chat, text, email etc.
